When the tapered screw being inspected is hand-tightened, it will always come to a stop when fitted together. By inspecting where it stops, the dimensional accuracy of the screw can be comprehensively evaluated. The gauge is equipped with notches that are equal to the permissible dimensions in the axial direction of the tapered screw being inspected.
